Testimonials

Fredman Javier Gutiérrez Monges
My name is Fredman, I am 25 years old, and I am from Nicaragua. Since childhood, I have faced great challenges due to my condition, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which has caused multiple fractures and surgeries on my legs. Despite this, I have never allowed my condition to define my future. My dream has always been to become a doctor to bring hope to others, just as doctors did for me.
Thanks to the support of Works of Power, I have been able to continue my medical studies. For nearly four years, they have been a great blessing in my life, helping me with transportation and food. Today, as a hospital volunteer, I strive to serve patients with empathy and share with them a message of faith and hope.
“Keep going, because you are changing lives. You are part of someone else’s dream, and that is a great blessing.”

Lorena Massiel Montenegro Castro
My name is Lorena, a 22-year-old medical student in Nicaragua. Raised by my grandparents while my mother worked in the U.S. to support us, I pursued my education with a scholarship. When financial struggles arose, I turned to God, and through Dr. Ángel Carazo, I discovered the Works of Power Good Samaritan Scholarship Program.
This support has allowed me to continue my studies while leading a group of scholarship recipients who serve the community through outreach and mentorship. I am deeply grateful to Works of Power for transforming lives and giving hope to students like me.

Alfredo Enriquez
Thanks to the Good Samaritan Scholarship from Works of Power, I was able to attend UC Merced, earn my degree, and work remotely while on campus. As a first-generation college student from a low-income, single-parent household, this support changed my life. Beyond financial help, the program connected me to a network of professionals and mentors, especially Javier Rodriguez who opened doors I never imagined. Today, I’m proud to give back as part of the scholarship team, helping others the way I was helped. I’m forever grateful to Works of Power for the opportunity to grow, serve, and make a lasting impact.
